Faith Formation - Ministries:

The following are the various ministries that enable our parish to properly operate in no particular order:

|Catechists

Catechists provide learning for our children and youth (and adults through the RCIA, Bible Study, etc.) so that all may grow in our faith. Catechists are especially important for our children, preschool through 8th grade. This ministry allows individuals the privilege and responsibility of sharing their knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, their Catholic faith with our children.

|Children's Faith Formation

The program sessions are held on Wednesday evenings beginning in mid-August and continuing through early May.

|Vacation Bible School

Towards the end June, we host a citywide Vacation Bible School program for children in grades pre-school through 5th grade. Students in 6th grade and older assist adults to provide group leadership, snacks, games, crafts, music, and storytelling.

|Hispanic Rosary

The Hispanic community of our local area meets at St. Margaret Mary each Sunday at 1:00pm for Mass.

|Hispanic Community

The Hispanic community of our local area meets at St. Margaret Mary each Sunday at 1:00pm for Mass.

|Funeral Dinner Ministry

On a parishioner’s death, this ministry provides a meal for the grieving family and friends after the funeral. Our primary goal is to increase our list of food donations by providing a salad or dessert. If you are interested in working a dinner, you are welcome to join the crew!

|Filipino Rosary

The Filipino community of St. Margaret Mary meets on the first Wednesday of the month for a communal Filipino meal and to pray the Rosary. All are welcome to join them!

|Marriage Preparation

Marriage Preparation couples assist engaged couples as they prepare to enter into the sacramental bond of Holy Matrimony. Training for preparation couples is provided, and periodic meetings take place to review and encourage the preparation catechists.

|OCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults functions to form and inform adults—those who are unbaptized or those who are baptized Christians, but are not Catholic—in the Catholic Faith and prepare them for full initiation in the Church. St. Margaret Mary, St. Patrick, Sacred Heart and St. Benedict parishes together provide this opportunity to potential parishioners.

|OCIA Sponsors

Candidates and catechumens preparing for full initiation into the Catholic Church need a sponsor. They may choose their own or the RCIA coordinator will match them with someone from among the members of the parish. The sponsor’s role is to act as a friend and spiritual companion for the person who is journeying toward full initiation at the Great Easter Vigil.

|Terre Haute Youth Ministry

Adult volunteers are needed to assist as small group leaders, catechists, and chaperones for special events.
